HOW PERILOUS IS PURITY OF HEART

Jake Byrne
To celebrate surviving the Beer Hall Putsch,
I bought America a bouquet of blue roses.
One whole dozen, at full expense.
Hip, hip, hooray!

Jimmy Breslin called Rudy Giuliani a small man in
search of a balcony.
Some small men live in search of a bunker.
Some men fuck you by writing an email containing an
hourly rate and suite number.
Some men fuck you while wearing lace hosiery. Who
cares!

Some small men fuck you and put a condom on after.
Some men became ash.
Some men had toxic scrunge fall on them after.
All men are in search of a rope and a rafter.

Rudy Giuliani, America’s mayor, reduced to riding in
coach!
I bet Rudy Giuliani has an asshole that looks
like a gassed cockroach.

My hairdresser said all men search for absolution,
but small men search for a world free and clear.
I am told Mouton Rothschild ’46 is an exceptional year.
If you squint, you can see the plumes of smoke from
here.
